- Ghafir Ayah 68هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُۖ فَإِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ ٦٨ He is the One Who gives life and causes death. When He decrees a matter, He simply tells it, “Be!” And it is!
- Ghafir Ayah 69أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَـٰدِلُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ أَنَّىٰ يُصْرَفُونَ ٦٩ Have you not seen how those who dispute Allah’s signs are turned away?
- Ghafir Ayah 70ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَبِمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا بِهِۦ رُسُلَنَاۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ ٧٠ ?They are? the ones who reject this Book and all ?scriptures? We sent Our messengers with. So they will know ?the consequences?
- Ghafir Ayah 71إِذِ ٱلْأَغْلَـٰلُ فِىٓ أَعْنَـٰقِهِمْ وَٱلسَّلَـٰسِلُ يُسْحَبُونَ ٧١ when shackles will be around their necks and chains ?on their legs?. They will be dragged
- Ghafir Ayah 72فِى ٱلْحَمِيمِ ثُمَّ فِى ٱلنَّارِ يُسْجَرُونَ ٧٢ through boiling water, then burned in the Fire ?as fuel?.
- Ghafir Ayah 73ثُمَّ قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تُشْرِكُونَ ٧٣ Then they will be asked, “Where are those ?idols? you used to associate
- Ghafir Ayah 74مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۖ قَالُواْ ضَلُّواْ عَنَّا بَل لَّمْ نَكُن نَّدْعُواْ مِن قَبْلُ شَيْــًٔاۚ كَذَٲلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ٧٤ with Allah?” They will cry, “They have ?all? failed us. In fact, we did not invoke anything ?real? before.” This is how Allah leaves the disbelievers to stray.
- Ghafir Ayah 75ذَٲلِكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَمْرَحُونَ ٧٥ ?They will be told,? “This ?punishment? is for being prideful on earth unjustly and for acting arrogantly.
- Ghafir Ayah 76ٱدْخُلُوٓاْ أَبْوَٲبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَاۖ فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ ٧٦ Enter the gates of Hell, to stay there forever. What an evil home for the arrogant!”
- Ghafir Ayah 77فَٱصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَۚقٌّ فَإِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ ٧٧ So be patient ?O Prophet?. Surely Allah’s promise is true. Whether We show you some of what We threaten them with, or cause you to die ?before that?, to Us they will ?all? be returned.
- Ghafir Ayah 78وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلاً مِّن قَبْلِكَ مِنْهُم مَّن قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّن لَّمْ نَقْصُصْ عَلَيْكَۗ وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَن يَأْتِىَ بِـَٔـايَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِۚ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ قُضِىَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ ٧٨ We already sent messengers before you. We have told you the stories of some of them, while others We have not. It was not for any messenger to bring a sign without Allah’s permission. But when Allah’s decree comes, judgment will be passed with fairness, and the people of falsehood will then be in ?total? loss.
- Ghafir Ayah 79ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمَ لِتَرْكَبُواْ مِنْهَا وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ ٧٩ It is Allah Who made cattle for you so that you may ride some and eat others.
- Ghafir Ayah 80وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَـٰفِعُ وَلِتَبْلُغُواْ عَلَيْهَا حَاجَةً فِى صُدُورِكُمْ وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ ٨٠ Also, you find in them ?other? benefits. And by means of them you may reach destinations you desire. And you are carried upon ?some of? them and upon ships.
- Ghafir Ayah 81وَيُرِيكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ فَأَىَّ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُنكِرُونَ ٨١ And He shows you His signs. Now which of Allah’s signs will you deny?
- Ghafir Ayah 82أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُواْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْۚ كَانُوٓاْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَءَاثَارًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ ٨٢ Have they not travelled throughout the land to see what was the end of those who were ?destroyed? before them? They were far superior in might and ?richer in? monuments throughout the land, but their ?worldly? gains were of no benefit to them.
- Ghafir Ayah 83فَلَمَّا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَرِحُواْ بِمَا عِندَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ٨٣ When their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they were prideful in whatever ?worldly? knowledge they had, and were ?ultimately? overwhelmed by what they used to ridicule.
- Ghafir Ayah 84فَلَمَّا رَأَوْاْ بَأْسَنَا قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَحْدَهُۥ وَكَفَرْنَا بِمَا كُنَّا بِهِۦ مُشْرِكِينَ ٨٤ When they saw Our punishment, they cried, “?Now? we believe in Allah alone and reject what we had been associating with Him!”
- Ghafir Ayah 85فَلَمْ يَكُ يَنفَعُهُمْ إِيمَـٰنُهُمْ لَمَّا رَأَوْاْ بَأْسَنَاۖ سُنَّتَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِى قَدْ خَلَتْ فِى عِبَادِهِۖۦ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ ٨٥ But their faith was of no benefit to them when they saw Our torment. This has ?always? been Allah’s way ?of dealing? with His ?wicked? servants. Then and there the disbelievers were in ?total? loss.
- Ghafir Ayah 1حمٓ ١ ?â-Mim.
- Ghafir Ayah 2تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ ٢ The revelation of this Book is from Allah—the Almighty, All-Knowing,
- Ghafir Ayah 5كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْۖ وَهَمَّتْ كُلُّ أُمَّةِۭ بِرَسُولِهِمْ لِيَأْخُذُوهُۖ وَجَـٰدَلُواْ بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ لِيُدْحِضُواْ بِهِ ٱلْحَقَّ فَأَخَذْتُهُمْۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ ٥ Before them, the people of Noah denied ?the truth?, as did ?other? enemy forces afterwards. Every community plotted against its prophet to seize him, and argued in falsehood, ?hoping? to discredit the truth with it. So I seized them. And how ?horrible? was My punishment!
- Ghafir Ayah 4مَا يُجَـٰدِلُ فِىٓ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَلَا يَغْرُرْكَ تَقَلُّبُهُمْ فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ ٤ None disputes the signs of Allah except the disbelievers, so do not be deceived by their prosperity throughout the land.
- Ghafir Ayah 3غَافِرِ ٱلذَّنۢبِ وَقَابِلِ ٱلتَّوْبِ شَدِيدِ ٱلْعِقَابِ ذِى ٱلطَّوْلِۖ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ إِلَيْهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ ٣ the Forgiver of sin and Accepter of repentance, the Severe in punishment, and Infinite in bounty. There is no god ?worthy of worship? except Him. To Him ?alone? is the final return.
- Ghafir Ayah 6وَكَذَٲلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ٦ And so your Lord’s decree has been proven true against the disbelievers—that they will be the inmates of the Fire.
- Ghafir Ayah 7ٱلَّذِينَ يَحْمِلُونَ ٱلْعَرْشَ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَيُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ رَّحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا فَٱغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُواْ سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ٧ Those ?angels? who carry the Throne and those around it glorify the praises of their Lord, have faith in Him, and seek forgiveness for the believers, ?praying:? “Our Lord! You encompass everything in ?Your? mercy and knowledge. So forgive those who repent and follow Your Way, and protect them from the torment of the Hellfire.
- Ghafir Ayah 8رَبَّنَا وَأَدْخِلْهُمْ جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدتَّهُمْ وَمَن صَلَحَ مِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَأَزْوَٲجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِهِمْۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٨ Our Lord! Admit them into the Gardens of Eternity which You have promised them, along with the righteous among their parents, spouses, and descendants. You ?alone? are truly the Almighty, All-Wise.
- Ghafir Ayah 9وَقِهِمُ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔـاتِۚ وَمَن تَقِ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔـاتِ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَقَدْ رَحِمْتَهُۥۚ وَذَٲلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ٩ And protect them from ?the consequences of their? evil deeds. For whoever You protect from the evil of their deeds on that Day will have been shown Your mercy. That is ?truly? the ultimate triumph.”
- Ghafir Ayah 10إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُنَادَوْنَ لَمَقْتُ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ مِن مَّقْتِكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ إِذْ تُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ فَتَكْفُرُونَ ١٠ Indeed, it will be announced to the disbelievers, “Allah’s contempt for you—as you disbelieved when invited to belief—was far worse than your contempt for one another ?Today?.”
- Ghafir Ayah 11قَالُواْ رَبَّنَآ أَمَتَّنَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ وَأَحْيَيْتَنَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ فَٱعْتَرَفْنَا بِذُنُوبِنَا فَهَلْ إِلَىٰ خُرُوجٍ مِّن سَبِيلٍ ١١ They will plead, “Our Lord! You made us lifeless twice, and gave us life twice. Now we confess our sins. So is there any way out?”
- Ghafir Ayah 12ذَٲلِكُم بِأَنَّهُۥٓ إِذَا دُعِىَ ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُۥ كَفَرْتُمْۖ وَإِن يُشْرَكْ بِهِۦ تُؤْمِنُواْۚ فَٱلْحُكْمُ لِلَّهِ ٱلْعَلِىِّ ٱلْكَبِيرِ ١٢ ?They will be told,? “?No!? This is because when Allah alone was invoked, you ?staunchly? disbelieved. But when others were associated with Him ?in worship?, you ?readily? believed. So ?Today? judgment belongs to Allah ?alone?—the Most High, All-Great.”
- Ghafir Ayah 13هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُرِيكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ وَيُنَزِّلُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقًاۚ وَمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ إِلَّا مَن يُنِيبُ ١٣ He is the One Who shows you His signs and sends down ?rain as? a provision for you from the sky. ?But? none will be mindful except those who turn ?to Him?.
- Ghafir Ayah 14فَٱدْعُواْ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ ١٤ So call upon Allah with sincere devotion, even to the dismay of the disbelievers.
- Ghafir Ayah 15رَفِيعُ ٱلدَّرَجَـٰتِ ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ يُلْقِى ٱلرُّوحَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ لِيُنذِرَ يَوْمَ ٱلتَّلَاقِ ١٥ ?He is? Highly Exalted in rank, Lord of the Throne. He sends down the revelation by His command to whoever He wills of His servants to warn ?all? of the Day of Meeting—
- Ghafir Ayah 16يَوْمَ هُم بَـٰرِزُونَۖ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ شَىْءٌۚ لِّمَنِ ٱلْمُلْكُ ٱلْيَوْمَۖ لِلَّهِ ٱلْوَٲحِدِ ٱلْقَهَّارِ ١٦ the Day all will appear ?before Allah?. Nothing about them will be hidden from Him. ?He will ask,? “Who does all authority belong to this Day? To Allah—the One, the Supreme!
- Ghafir Ayah 17ٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْۚ لَا ظُلْمَ ٱلْيَوْمَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ ١٧ Today every soul will be rewarded for what it has done. No injustice Today! Surely Allah is swift in reckoning.”
- Ghafir Ayah 18وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْأَزِفَةِ إِذِ ٱلْقُلُوبُ لَدَى ٱلْحَنَاجِرِ كَـٰظِمِينَۚ مَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ يُطَاعُ ١٨ Warn them ?O Prophet? of the approaching Day when the hearts will jump into the throats, suppressing distress. The wrongdoers will have neither a close friend nor intercessor to be heard.
- Ghafir Ayah 19يَعْلَمُ خَآئِنَةَ ٱلْأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِى ٱلصُّدُورُ ١٩ Allah ?even? knows the sly glances of the eyes and whatever the hearts conceal.
- Ghafir Ayah 20وَٱللَّهُ يَقْضِى بِٱلْحَقِّۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَقْضُونَ بِشَىْءٍۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ ٢٠ And Allah judges with the truth, while those ?idols? they invoke besides Him cannot judge at all. Indeed, Allah ?alone? is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing.
- Ghafir Ayah 21۞ أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُواْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُواْ مِن قَبْلِهِمْۚ كَانُواْ هُمْ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَءَاثَارًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَاقٍ ٢١ Have they not travelled throughout the land to see what was the end of those ?destroyed? before them? They were far superior in might and ?richer in? monuments throughout the land. But Allah seized them for their sins, and they had no protector from Allah.
- Ghafir Ayah 22ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانَت تَّأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَكَفَرُواْ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ قَوِىٌّ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ ٢٢ That was because their messengers used to come to them with clear proofs, but they persisted in disbelief. So Allah seized them. Surely He is All-Powerful, severe in punishment.
- Ghafir Ayah 23وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ ٢٣ Indeed, We sent Moses with Our signs and compelling proof
- Ghafir Ayah 24إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ وَقَـٰرُونَ فَقَالُواْ سَـٰحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ ٢٤ to Pharaoh, Hamân, and Korah. But they responded: “Magician! Total liar!”
- Ghafir Ayah 25فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ مِنْ عِندِنَا قَالُواْ ٱقْتُلُوٓاْ أَبْنَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥ وَٱسْتَحْيُواْ نِسَآءَهُمْۚ وَمَا كَيْدُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ ٢٥ Then, when he came to them with the truth from Us, they said, “Kill the sons of those who believe with him and keep their women.” But the plotting of the disbelievers was only in vain.
- Ghafir Ayah 26وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ذَرُونِىٓ أَقْتُلْ مُوسَىٰ وَلْيَدْعُ رَبَّهُۥٓۖ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُبَدِّلَ دِينَكُمْ أَوْ أَن يُظْهِرَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلْفَسَادَ ٢٦ And Pharaoh said, “Let me kill Moses, and let him call upon his Lord! I truly fear that he may change your traditions or cause mischief in the land.”
- Ghafir Ayah 27وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُم مِّن كُلِّ مُتَكَبِّرٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ ٢٧ Moses replied, “I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant person who does not believe in the Day of Reckoning.”
- Ghafir Ayah 28وَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مُّؤْمِنٌ مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَكْتُمُ إِيمَـٰنَهُۥٓ أَتَقْتُلُونَ رَجُلاً أَن يَقُولَ رَبِّىَ ٱللَّهُ وَقَدْ جَآءَكُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ مِن رَّبِّكُمْۖ وَإِن يَكُ كَـٰذِبًا فَعَلَيْهِ كَذِبُهُۥۖ وَإِن يَكُ صَادِقًا يُصِبْكُم بَعْضُ ٱلَّذِى يَعِدُكُمْۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌ كَذَّابٌ ٢٨ A believing man from Pharaoh’s people, who was hiding his faith, argued, “Will you kill a man ?only? for saying: ‘My Lord is Allah,’ while he has in fact come to you with clear proofs from your Lord? If he is a liar, it will be to his own loss. But if he is truthful, then you will be afflicted with some of what he is threatening you with. Surely Allah does not guide whoever is a transgressor, a total liar.
- Ghafir Ayah 29يَـٰقَوْمِ لَكُمُ ٱلْمُلْكُ ٱلْيَوْمَ ظَـٰهِرِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَمَن يَنصُرُنَا مِنۢ بَأْسِ ٱللَّهِ إِن جَآءَنَاۚ قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ مَآ أُرِيكُمْ إِلَّا مَآ أَرَىٰ وَمَآ أَهْدِيكُمْ إِلَّا سَبِيلَ ٱلرَّشَادِ ٢٩ O my people! Authority belongs to you today, reigning supreme in the land. But who would help us against the torment of Allah, if it were to befall us?” Pharaoh assured ?his people?, “I am telling you only what I believe, and I am leading you only to the way of guidance.”
- Ghafir Ayah 30وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنَ يَـٰقَوْمِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُم مِّثْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ ٣٠ And the man who believed cautioned, “O my people! I truly fear for you the doom of ?earlier? enemy forces—
- Ghafir Ayah 31مِثْلَ دَأْبِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْۚ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْمًا لِّلْعِبَادِ ٣١ like the fate of the people of Noah, ’?d, Thamûd, and those after them. For Allah would never will to wrong ?His? servants.
- Ghafir Ayah 32وَيَـٰقَوْمِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلتَّنَادِ ٣٢ O my people! I truly fear for you the Day all will be crying out ?to each other?—
- Ghafir Ayah 33يَوْمَ تُوَلُّونَ مُدْبِرِينَ مَا لَكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ عَاصِمٍۗ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنْ هَادٍ ٣٣ the Day you will ?try in vain to? turn your backs and run away, with no one to protect you from Allah. And whoever Allah leaves to stray will be left with no guide.
- Ghafir Ayah 34وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكُمْ يُوسُفُ مِن قَبْلُ بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَمَا زِلْتُمْ فِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّا جَآءَكُم بِهِۦۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا هَلَكَ قُلْتُمْ لَن يَبْعَثَ ٱللَّهُ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ رَسُوۚلاً كَذَٲلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌ مُّرْتَابٌ ٣٤ Joseph already came to you earlier with clear proofs, yet you never ceased to doubt what he came to you with. When he died you said, ‘Allah will never send a messenger after him.’ This is how Allah leaves every transgressor and doubter to stray—
- Ghafir Ayah 35ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَـٰدِلُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَـٰنٍ أَتَـٰهُمْۖ كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَعِندَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْۚ كَذَٲلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ قَلْبِ مُتَكَبِّرٍ جَبَّارٍ ٣٥ those who dispute Allah’s signs with no proof given to them. How despicable is that for Allah and the believers! This is how Allah seals the heart of every arrogant tyrant.”
- Ghafir Ayah 36وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يَـٰهَـٰمَـٰنُ ٱبْنِ لِى صَرْحًا لَّعَلِّىٓ أَبْلُغُ ٱلْأَسْبَـٰبَ ٣٦ Pharaoh ordered, “O Hamân! Build me a high tower so I may reach the pathways
- Ghafir Ayah 37أَسْبَـٰبَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَـٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّى لَأَظُنُّهُۥ كَـٰذِبًاۚ وَكَذَٲلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِفِرْعَوْنَ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ وَصُدَّ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِۚ وَمَا كَيْدُ فِرْعَوْنَ إِلَّا فِى تَبَابٍ ٣٧ leading up to the heavens and look for the God of Moses, although I am sure he is a liar.” And so Pharaoh’s evil deeds were made so appealing to him that he was hindered from the ?Right? Way. But the plotting of Pharaoh was only in vain.
- Ghafir Ayah 38وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱتَّبِعُونِ أَهْدِكُمْ سَبِيلَ ٱلرَّشَادِ ٣٨ And the man who believed urged, “O my people! Follow me, ?and? I will lead you to the Way of Guidance.
- Ghafir Ayah 39يَـٰقَوْمِ إِنَّمَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٲةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا مَتَـٰعٌ وَإِنَّ ٱلْأَخِرَةَ هِىَ دَارُ ٱلْقَرَارِ ٣٩ O my people! This worldly life is only ?a fleeting? enjoyment, whereas the Hereafter is truly the home of settlement.
- Ghafir Ayah 40مَنْ عَمِلَ سَيِّئَةً فَلَا يُجْزَىٰٓ إِلَّا مِثْلَهَاۖ وَمَنْ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ يُرْزَقُونَ فِيهَا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ ٤٠ Whoever does an evil deed will only be paid back with its equivalent. And whoever does good, whether male or female, and is a believer, they will enter Paradise, where they will be provided for without limit.
- Ghafir Ayah 41۞ وَيَـٰقَوْمِ مَا لِىٓ أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَى ٱلنَّجَوٲةِ وَتَدْعُونَنِىٓ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِ ٤١ O my people! How is it that I invite you to salvation, while you invite me to the Fire!
- Ghafir Ayah 42تَدْعُونَنِى لِأَكْفُرَ بِٱللَّهِ وَأُشْرِكَ بِهِۦ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ وَأَنَا۟ أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْغَفَّـٰرِ ٤٢ You invite me to disbelieve in Allah and associate with Him what I have no knowledge of, while I invite you to the Almighty, Most Forgiving.
- Ghafir Ayah 43لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّمَا تَدْعُونَنِىٓ إِلَيْهِ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ دَعْوَةٌ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَلَا فِى ٱلْأَخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ مَرَدَّنَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَأَنَّ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ هُمْ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ٤٣ There is no doubt that whatever ?idols? you invite me to ?worship? are not worthy to be invoked either in this world or the Hereafter. ?Undoubtedly,? our return is to Allah, and the transgressors will be the inmates of the Fire.
- Ghafir Ayah 44فَسَتَذْكُرُونَ مَآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْۚ وَأُفَوِّضُ أَمْرِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَصِيرُۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ ٤٤ You will remember what I say to you, and I entrust my affairs to Allah. Surely Allah is All-Seeing of all ?His? servants.”
- Ghafir Ayah 45فَوَقَـٰهُ ٱللَّهُ سَيِّـَٔـاتِ مَا مَكَرُواْۖ وَحَاقَ بِـَٔـالِ فِرْعَوْنَ سُوٓءُ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٤٥ So Allah protected him from the evil of their schemes. And Pharaoh’s people were overwhelmed by an evil punishment:
- Ghafir Ayah 46ٱلنَّارُ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا غُدُوًّا وَعَشِيًّاۖ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدْخِلُوٓاْ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَشَدَّ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٤٦ they are exposed to the Fire ?in their graves? morning and evening. And on the Day the Hour will be established ?it will be said?, “Admit Pharaoh’s people into the harshest punishment ?of Hell?.”
- Ghafir Ayah 47وَإِذْ يَتَحَآجُّونَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ فَيَقُولُ ٱلضُّعَفَـٰٓؤُاْ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓاْ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ ٤٧ ?Consider the Day? when they will dispute in the Fire, and the lowly ?followers? will appeal to the arrogant ?leaders?, “We were your ?dedicated? followers, will you then shield us from a portion of the Fire?”
- Ghafir Ayah 48قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓاْ إِنَّا كُلٌّ فِيهَآ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدْ حَكَمَ بَيْنَ ٱلْعِبَادِ ٤٨ The arrogant will say, “We are all in it! ?For? Allah has already passed judgment over ?His? servants.”
- Ghafir Ayah 49وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ لِخَزَنَةِ جَهَنَّمَ ٱدْعُواْ رَبَّكُمْ يُخَفِّفْ عَنَّا يَوْمًا مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٤٩ And those in the Fire will cry out to the keepers of Hell, “Pray to your Lord to lighten the torment for us ?even? for one day!”
- Ghafir Ayah 50قَالُوٓاْ أَوَلَمْ تَكُ تَأْتِيكُمْ رُسُلُكُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِۖ قَالُواْ بَلَىٰۚ قَالُواْ فَٱدْعُواْۗ وَمَا دُعَـٰٓؤُاْ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ ٥٠ The keepers will reply, “Did your messengers not ?constantly? come to you with clear proofs?” They will say, “Yes ?they did?.” The keepers will say, “Then pray! Though the prayer of the disbelievers is only in vain.”
- Ghafir Ayah 51إِنَّا لَنَنصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٲةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلْأَشْهَـٰدُ ٥١ We certainly help Our messengers and the believers, ?both? in this worldly life and on the Day the witnesses will stand forth ?for testimony?—
- Ghafir Ayah 52يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ مَعْذِرَتُهُمْۖ وَلَهُمُ ٱللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوٓءُ ٱلدَّارِ ٥٢ the Day the wrongdoers’ excuses will be of no benefit to them. They will be condemned, and will have the worst outcome.
- Ghafir Ayah 53وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَأَوْرَثْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ٥٣ And indeed, We gave Moses ?true? guidance, and made the Children of Israel inherit the Scripture—
- Ghafir Ayah 54هُدًى وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُوْلِى ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ ٥٤ a guide and a reminder to people of reason.
- Ghafir Ayah 55فَٱصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنۢبِكَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِبْكَـٰرِ ٥٥ So be patient ?O Prophet?, ?for? Allah’s promise is certainly true. Seek forgiveness for your shortcomings. And glorify the praises of your Lord morning and evening.
- Ghafir Ayah 56إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَـٰدِلُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَـٰنٍ أَتَـٰهُمْۙ إِن فِى صُدُورِهِمْ إِلَّا كِبْرٌ مَّا هُم بِبَـٰلِغِيهِۚ فَٱسْتَعِذْ بِٱللَّهِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ ٥٦ Surely those who dispute Allah’s signs—with no proof given to them—have nothing in their hearts but greed for dominance, which they will never attain. So seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He alone is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing.
- Ghafir Ayah 57لَخَلْقُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ خَلْقِ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٥٧ The creation of the heavens and the earth is certainly greater than the re-creation of humankind, but most people do not know.
- Ghafir Ayah 58وَمَا يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْبَصِيرُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَلَا ٱلْمُسِىٓءُۚ قَلِيلاً مَّا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ ٥٨ Those blind ?to the truth? and those who can see are not equal, nor are those who believe and do good ?equal? to those who do evil. Yet you are hardly mindful.
- Ghafir Ayah 59إِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَأَتِيَةٌ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهَا وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ٥٩ The Hour is certainly coming, there is no doubt about it. But most people do not believe.
- Ghafir Ayah 60وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ٱدْعُونِىٓ أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِى سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ ٦٠ Your Lord has proclaimed, “Call upon Me, I will respond to you. Surely those who are too proud to worship Me will enter Hell, fully humbled.”
- Ghafir Ayah 61ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ لِتَسْكُنُواْ فِيهِ وَٱلنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًاۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ ٦١ It is Allah Who has made the night for you to rest in and the day bright. Surely Allah is ever Bountiful to humanity, but most people are ungrateful.
- Ghafir Ayah 62ذَٲلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ خَـٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ لَّآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤْفَكُونَ ٦٢ That is Allah, your Lord, the Creator of all things. There is no god ?worthy of worship? except Him. How can you then be deluded ?from the truth??
- Ghafir Ayah 63كَذَٲلِكَ يُؤْفَكُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُواْ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ ٦٣ This is how those who used to reject Allah’s signs were ?also? deluded.
- Ghafir Ayah 64ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ قَرَارًا وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بِنَآءً وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَأَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِۚ ذَٲلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْۖ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٦٤ It is Allah Who made the earth a place of settlement for you and the sky a canopy. He shaped you ?in the womb?, perfecting your form. And He has provided you with what is good and lawful. That is Allah—your Lord. So Blessed is Allah, Lord of all worlds.
- Ghafir Ayah 65هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَٱدْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَۗ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٦٥ He is the Ever-Living. There is no god ?worthy of worship? except Him. So call upon Him with sincere devotion, ?saying,? “All praise is for Allah—Lord of all worlds.”
- Ghafir Ayah 66۞ قُلْ إِنِّى نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَمَّا جَآءَنِىَ ٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتُ مِن رَّبِّى وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٦٦ Say, ?O Prophet,? “I have been forbidden to worship those ?idols? you worship besides Allah, since clear proofs have come to me from my Lord. And I have been commanded to ?fully? submit to the Lord of all worlds.”
- Ghafir Ayah 67هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلاً ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوٓاْ أَشُدَّكُمْ ثُمَّ لِتَكُونُواْ شُيُوخًاۚ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ مِن قَبْلُۖ وَلِتَبْلُغُوٓاْ أَجَلاً مُّسَمًّى وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ٦٧ He is the One Who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then ?developed you into? a clinging clot ?of blood?, then He brings you forth as infants, so that you may reach your prime, and become old—though some of you ?may? die sooner—reaching an appointed time, so perhaps you may understand ?Allah’s power?.
غافر which is spelled Surah Ghafir in english has meaning The Forgiver is placed at number 40 in the Quran. This surah that contains 85 number of ayah, started on page 467 & ends on page 476 in the Holy Quran.
غافر is part of & given to prophet Muhammad as the number 60 in the order of Quran revelation.
