- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 1طسٓمٓ ١ ?â-Sin-Mim.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 2تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ ٢ These are the verses of the clear Book.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 3لَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُواْ مُؤْمِنِينَ ٣ Perhaps you ?O Prophet? will grieve yourself to death over their disbelief.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 4إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَـٰضِعِينَ ٤ If We willed, We could send down upon them a ?compelling? sign from the heavens, leaving their necks bent in ?utter? submission to it.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 5وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ ٥ Whatever new reminder comes to them from the Most Compassionate, they always turn away from it.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 6فَقَدْ كَذَّبُواْ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُاْ مَا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ٦ They have certainly denied ?the truth?, so they will soon face the consequences of their ridicule.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 7أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ ٧ Have they failed to look at the earth, ?to see? how many types of fine plants We have caused to grow in it?
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 8إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةًۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ٨ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 9وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ٩ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 10وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ١٠ ?Remember? when your Lord called out to Moses, “Go to the wrongdoing people—
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 11قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ ١١ the people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear ?Allah??”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 12قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ ١٢ He replied, “My Lord! I fear that they will reject me.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 13وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ ١٣ And ?so? my heart will be broken and my tongue will be tied. So send Aaron along ?as a messenger?.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 14وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ ١٤ Also, they have a charge against me, so I fear they may kill me.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 15قَالَ كَلَّاۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَآۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ ١٥ Allah responded, “Certainly not! So go, both of you, with Our signs. We will be with you, listening.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 16فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٦ Go to Pharaoh and say, ‘We are messengers from the Lord of all worlds,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 17أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ ١٧ ?commanded to say:? ‘Let the Children of Israel go with us.’’”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 18قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ ١٨ Pharaoh protested, “Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you stayed several years of your life in our care?
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 19وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ١٩ Then you did what you did, being ?utterly? ungrateful!”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 20قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۟ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ٢٠ Moses replied, “I did it then, lacking guidance.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 21فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ٢١ So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 22وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ ٢٢ How can that be a ‘favour,’ of which you remind me, when ?it was only because? you ?have? enslaved the Children of Israel?”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 23قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٢٣ Pharaoh asked, “And what is ‘the Lord of all worlds’?”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 24قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ ٢٤ Moses replied, “?He is? the Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything in between, if only you had sure faith.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 25قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ ٢٥ Pharaoh said to those around him, “Did you hear ?what he said??”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 26قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٢٦ Moses added, “?He is? your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 27قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ ٢٧ Pharaoh said ?mockingly?, “Your messenger, who has been sent to you, must be insane.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 28قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ٢٨ Moses responded: “?He is? the Lord of the east and west, and everything in between, if only you had any sense.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 29قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ ٢٩ Pharaoh threatened, “If you take any other god besides me, I will certainly have you imprisoned.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 30قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ ٣٠ Moses responded, “Even if I bring you a clear proof?”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 31قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ٣١ Pharaoh demanded, “Bring it then, if what you say is true.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 32فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ ٣٢ So he threw down his staff and—behold!—it became a real snake.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 33وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ ٣٣ Then he drew his hand ?out of his collar? and it was ?shining? white for all to see.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 34قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ ٣٤ Pharaoh said to the chiefs around him, “He is indeed a skilled magician,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 35يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ ٣٥ who seeks to drive you from your land by his magic. So what do you propose?”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 36قَالُوٓاْ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ ٣٦ They replied, “Let him and his brother wait and dispatch mobilizers to all cities
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 37يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ ٣٧ to bring you every skilled magician.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 38فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ٣٨ So the magicians were assembled at the set time on the appointed day.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 39وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ ٣٩ And the people were asked, “Will you join the gathering,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 40لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُواْ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ ٤٠ so that we may follow the magicians if they prevail?”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 41فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُواْ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ ٤١ When the magicians came, they asked Pharaoh, “Shall we have a ?suitable? reward if we prevail?”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 42قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ ٤٢ He replied, “Yes, and you will then certainly be among those closest to me.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 43قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُواْ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ ٤٣ Moses said to them, “Cast whatever you wish to cast.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 44فَأَلْقَوْاْ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُواْ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ ٤٤ So they cast down their ropes and staffs, saying, “By Pharaoh’s might, it is we who will surely prevail.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 45فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ ٤٥ Then Moses threw down his staff, and—behold!—it devoured the objects of their illusion!
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 46فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ ٤٦ So the magicians fell down, prostrating.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 47قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٤٧ They declared, “We ?now? believe in the Lord of all worlds—
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 48رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ٤٨ the Lord of Moses and Aaron.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 49قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ٤٩ Pharaoh threatened, “How dare you believe in him before I give you permission? He must be your master who taught you magic, but soon you will see. I will certainly cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, then crucify you all.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 50قَالُواْ لَا ضَيْرَۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ ٥٠ They responded, “?That would be? no harm! Surely to our Lord we will ?all? return.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 51إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٥١ We really hope that our Lord will forgive our sins, as we are the first to believe.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 52۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ ٥٢ And We inspired Moses, ?saying,? “Leave with My servants at night, for you will surely be pursued.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 53فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ ٥٣ Then Pharaoh sent mobilizers to all cities,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 54إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ ٥٤ ?and said,? “These ?outcasts? are just a handful of people,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 55وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ ٥٥ who have really enraged us,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 56وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَـٰذِرُونَ ٥٦ but we are all on the alert.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 57فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ٥٧ So We lured the tyrants out of ?their? gardens, springs,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 58وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ ٥٨ treasures, and splendid residences.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 59كَذَٲلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ ٥٩ So it was. And We awarded it ?all? to the Children of Israel.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 60فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ ٦٠ And so they pursued them at sunrise.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 61فَلَمَّا تَرَٲٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ ٦١ When the two groups came face to face, the companions of Moses cried out, “We are overtaken for sure.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 62قَالَ كَلَّآۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ ٦٢ Moses reassured ?them?, “Absolutely not! My Lord is certainly with me—He will guide me.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 63فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ٦٣ So We inspired Moses: “Strike the sea with your staff,” and the sea was split, each part was like a huge mountain.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 64وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْأَخَرِينَ ٦٤ We drew the pursuers to that place,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 65وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ٦٥ and delivered Moses and those with him all together.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 66ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْأَخَرِينَ ٦٦ Then We drowned the others.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 67إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةًۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ٦٧ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 68وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ٦٨ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 69وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٲهِيمَ ٦٩ Relate to them ?O Prophet? the story of Abraham,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 70إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ ٧٠ when he questioned his father and his people, “What is that you worship ?besides Allah??”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 71قَالُواْ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَـٰكِفِينَ ٧١ They replied, “We worship idols, to which we are fully devoted.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 72قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ ٧٢ Abraham asked, “Can they hear you when you call upon them?
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 73أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ ٧٣ Or can they benefit or harm you?”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 74قَالُواْ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٲلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ ٧٤ They replied, “No! But we found our forefathers doing the same.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 75قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ٧٥ Abraham responded, “Have you ?really? considered what you have been worshipping—
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 76أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ ٧٦ you and your ancestors?
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 77فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٧٧ They are ?all? enemies to me, except the Lord of all worlds.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 78ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ ٧٨ ?He is? the One Who created me, and He ?alone? guides me.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 79وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ ٧٩ ?He is? the One Who provides me with food and drink.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 80وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ ٨٠ And He ?alone? heals me when I am sick.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 81وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ ٨١ And He ?is the One Who? will cause me to die, and then bring me back to life.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 82وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓــَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ ٨٢ And He is ?the One? Who, I hope, will forgive my flaws on Judgment Day.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 83رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ ٨٣ “My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and join me with the righteous.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 85وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٨٥ Make me one of those awarded the Garden of Bliss.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 84وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْأَخِرِينَ ٨٤ Bless me with honourable mention among later generations.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 86وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ٨٦ Forgive my father, for he is certainly one of the misguided.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 87وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ ٨٧ And do not disgrace me on the Day all will be resurrected—
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 88يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ ٨٨ the Day when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 89إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ ٨٩ Only those who come before Allah with a pure heart ?will be saved?.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 90وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ٩٠ ?On that Day? Paradise will be brought near to the God-fearing,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 91وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ ٩١ and the Hellfire will be displayed to the deviant.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 159وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٥٩ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 160كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ١٦٠ The people of Lot rejected the messengers
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 161إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٦١ when their brother Lot said to them, “Will you not fear ?Allah??
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 162إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ١٦٢ I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 163فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٦٣ So fear Allah, and obey me.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 164وَمَآ أَسْــَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٦٤ I do not ask you for any reward for this ?message?. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 165أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٦٥ Why do you ?men? lust after fellow men,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 166وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٲجِكُمۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ ١٦٦ leaving the wives that your Lord has created for you? In fact, you are a transgressing people.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 167قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ ١٦٧ They threatened, “If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be expelled.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 168قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ ١٦٨ Lot responded, “I am truly one of those who despise your ?shameful? practice.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 169رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ ١٦٩ My Lord! Save me and my family from ?the consequences of? what they do.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 170فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ١٧٠ So We saved him and all of his family,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 171إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ ١٧١ except an old woman, who was one of the doomed.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 172ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْأَخَرِينَ ١٧٢ Then We utterly destroyed the rest,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 173وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًاۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ ١٧٣ pouring upon them a rain ?of brimstone?. How evil was the rain of those who had been warned!
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 174إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةًۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٧٤ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 175وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٧٥ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 176كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ لْــَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ١٧٦ The residents of the Forest rejected the messengers
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 177إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٧٧ when Shu’aib said to them, “Will you not fear ?Allah??
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 178إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ١٧٨ I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 179فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٧٩ So fear Allah, and obey me.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 180وَمَآ أَسْــَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٨٠ I do not ask you for any reward for this ?message?. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 181۞ أَوْفُواْ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ ١٨١ Give full measure, and cause no loss ?to others?.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 182وَزِنُواْ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ ١٨٢ Weigh with an even balance,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 183وَلَا تَبْخَسُواْ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْاْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ ١٨٣ and do not defraud people of their property. Nor go about spreading corruption in the land.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 184وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ١٨٤ And fear the One Who created you and ?all? earlier peoples.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 185قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ ١٨٥ They replied, “You are simply bewitched!
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 186وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ ١٨٦ Also, you are only a human being like us, and we think you are indeed a liar.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 187فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ١٨٧ So cause ?deadly? pieces of the sky to fall upon us, if what you say is true.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 188قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ١٨٨ Shu’aib responded, “My Lord knows best whatever you do.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 189فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ١٨٩ So they rejected him, and ?so? were overtaken by the torment of the day of the ?deadly? cloud. That was really a torment of a tremendous day.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 190إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةًۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٩٠ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 191وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٩١ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 192وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٩٢ This is certainly a revelation from the Lord of all worlds,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 193نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ ١٩٣ which the trustworthy spirit ?Gabriel? brought down
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 194عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ ١٩٤ into your heart ?O Prophet?—so that you may be one of the warners—
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 196وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ١٩٦ And it has indeed been ?foretold? in the Scriptures of those before.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 195بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ ١٩٥ in a clear Arabic tongue.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 197أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُاْ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ ١٩٧ Was it not sufficient proof for the deniers that it has been recognized by the knowledgeable among the Children of Israel?
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 198وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ ١٩٨ Had We revealed it to a non-Arab,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 199فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ ١٩٩ who would then recite it to the deniers ?in fluent Arabic?, still they would not have believed in it!
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 200كَذَٲلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ٢٠٠ This is how We allow denial ?to steep? into the hearts of the wicked.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 201لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ ٢٠١ They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 202فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ٢٠٢ which will take them by surprise when they least expect ?it?.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 203فَيَقُولُواْ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ ٢٠٣ Then they will cry, “Can we be allowed more time?”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 204أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ ٢٠٤ Do they ?really? seek to hasten Our torment?
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 207مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُمَتَّعُونَ ٢٠٧ would that enjoyment be of any benefit to them ?at all??
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 206ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُوعَدُونَ ٢٠٦ then there came to them what they had been threatened with:
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 205أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ ٢٠٥ Imagine ?O Prophet? if We allowed them enjoyment for years,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 208وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ ٢٠٨ We have never destroyed a society without warners
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 209ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ ٢٠٩ to remind ?them?, for We would never wrong ?anyone?.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 210وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ ٢١٠ It was not the devils who brought this ?Quran? down:
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 211وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ٢١١ it is not for them ?to do so?, nor can they,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 212إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ ٢١٢ for they are strictly barred from ?even? overhearing ?it?.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 213فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ ٢١٣ So do not ever call upon any other god besides Allah, or you will be one of the punished.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 214وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ ٢١٤ And warn ?all, starting with? your closest relatives,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 215وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٢١٥ and be gracious to the believers who follow you.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 216فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ٢١٦ But if they disobey you, say, “I am certainly free of what you do.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 217وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٢١٧ Put your trust in the Almighty, Most Merciful,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 218ٱلَّذِى يَرَٮٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ ٢١٨ Who sees you when you rise ?for prayer at night?,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 219وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ ٢١٩ as well as your movements ?in prayer? along with ?fellow? worshippers.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 220إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٢٢٠ He ?alone? is indeed the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 221هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ ٢٢١ Shall I inform you of whom the devils ?actually? descend upon?
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 222تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ ٢٢٢ They descend upon every sinful liar,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 223يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ ٢٢٣ who gives an ?attentive? ear ?to half-truths?, mostly passing on sheer lies.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 224وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ ٢٢٤ As for poets, they are followed ?merely? by deviants.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 225أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ ٢٢٥ Do you not see how they rant in every field,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 226وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ ٢٢٦ only saying what they never do?
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 227إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَذَكَرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُواْ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ ٢٢٧ Except those who believe, do good, remember Allah often, and ?poetically? avenge ?the believers? after being wrongfully slandered. The wrongdoers will come to know what ?evil? end they will meet.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 92وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ٩٢ And it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to worship
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 93مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ ٩٣ besides Allah? Can they help you or even help themselves?”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 96قَالُواْ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ ٩٦ There the deviant will cry while disputing with their idols,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 95وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ ٩٥ and the soldiers of Iblîs, all together.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 94فَكُبْكِبُواْ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ ٩٤ Then the idols will be hurled headlong into Hell, along with the deviant
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 97تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ ٩٧ “By Allah! We were clearly mistaken,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 98إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٩٨ when we made you equal to the Lord of all worlds.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 99وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ ٩٩ And none led us astray other than the wicked.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 100فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَـٰفِعِينَ ١٠٠ Now we have none to intercede for us,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 101وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ ١٠١ nor a close friend.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 102فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١٠٢ If only we could have a second chance, then we would be believers.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 103إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةًۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٠٣ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 104وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٠٤ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 105كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ١٠٥ The people of Noah rejected the messengers
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 106إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٠٦ when their brother Noah said to them, “Will you not fear ?Allah??
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 107إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ١٠٧ I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 108فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٠٨ So fear Allah, and obey me.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 109وَمَآ أَسْــَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٠٩ I do not ask you for any reward for this ?message?. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 110فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١١٠ So fear Allah, and obey me.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 111۞ قَالُوٓاْ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ ١١١ They argued, “How can we believe in you, when you are followed ?only? by the lowest of the low?”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 112قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ ١١٢ He responded, “And what knowledge do I have of what they do?
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 113إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّىۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ ١١٣ Their judgment is with my Lord, if you had any sense!
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 114وَمَآ أَنَا۟ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١١٤ I am not going to expel the believers.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 115إِنْ أَنَا۟ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ١١٥ I am only sent with a clear warning.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 116قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ ١١٦ They threatened, “If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be stoned ?to death?.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 117قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ ١١٧ Noah prayed, “My Lord! My people have truly rejected me.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 118فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١١٨ So judge between me and them decisively, and save me and the believers with me.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 119فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ ١١٩ So We saved him and those with him in the fully loaded Ark.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 120ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ ١٢٠ Then afterwards We drowned the rest.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 121إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةًۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٢١ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 122وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٢٢ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 123كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ١٢٣ The people of ’Âd rejected the messengers
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 124إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٢٤ when their brother Hûd said to them, “Will you not fear ?Allah??
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 125إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ١٢٥ I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 126فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٢٦ So fear Allah, and obey me.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 127وَمَآ أَسْــَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٢٧ I do not ask you for any reward for this ?message?. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 128أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ ١٢٨ ?Why? do you build a landmark on every high place in vanity,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 129وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ ١٢٩ and construct castles, as if you are going to live forever,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 130وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ ١٣٠ and act so viciously when you attack ?others??
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 131فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٣١ So fear Allah, and obey me.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 132وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ ١٣٢ Fear the One Who has provided you with ?the good? things you know:
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 133أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَـٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ ١٣٣ He provided you with cattle, and children,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 134وَجَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ١٣٤ and gardens, and springs.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 135إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ١٣٥ I truly fear for you the torment of a tremendous day.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 136قَالُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٲعِظِينَ ١٣٦ They responded, “It is all the same to us whether you warn ?us? or not.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 137إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ١٣٧ This is simply the tradition of our predecessors.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 138وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ ١٣٨ And we will never be punished.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 139فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةًۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٣٩ So they rejected him, and ?so? We destroyed them. Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 140وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٤٠ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 141كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ١٤١ The people of Thamûd rejected the messengers
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 142إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٤٢ when their brother ?âli? said to them, “Will you not fear ?Allah??
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 143إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ١٤٣ I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 144فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٤٤ So fear Allah, and obey me.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 145وَمَآ أَسْــَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٤٥ I do not ask you for any reward for this ?message?. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 146أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ ١٤٦ Do you think you will be ?forever? left secure in what you have here:
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 147فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ١٤٧ amid gardens and springs,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 148وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ ١٤٨ and ?various? crops, and palm trees ?loaded? with tender fruit;
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 149وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَـٰرِهِينَ ١٤٩ to carve homes in the mountains with great skill?
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 150فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٥٠ So fear Allah, and obey me.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 151وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓاْ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ ١٥١ And do not follow the command of the transgressors,
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 152ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ ١٥٢ who spread corruption throughout the land, never setting things right.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 153قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ ١٥٣ They replied, “You are simply bewitched!
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 154مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔـايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ١٥٤ You are only a human being like us, so bring forth a sign if what you say is true.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 155قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ١٥٥ ?âli? said, “Here is a camel. She will have her turn to drink as you have yours, each on an appointed day.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 156وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ١٥٦ And do not ever touch her with harm, or you will be overtaken by the torment of a tremendous day.”
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 157فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُواْ نَـٰدِمِينَ ١٥٧ But they killed her, becoming regretful.
- Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 158فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةًۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٥٨ So the punishment overtook them. Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
الشعراء which is spelled Surah Ash Shu'ara' in english has meaning The Poets is placed at number 26 in the Quran. This surah that contains 227 number of ayah, started on page 367 & ends on page 376 in the Holy Quran.
الشعراء is part of & given to prophet Muhammad as the number 47 in the order of Quran revelation.
