Surah Ash Shu’ara’

بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ

  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 1
    طسٓمٓ ١ ?â-Sin-Mim.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 2
    تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ ٢ These are the verses of the clear Book.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 3
    لَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُواْ مُؤْمِنِينَ ٣ Perhaps you ?O Prophet? will grieve yourself to death over their disbelief.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 4
    إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَـٰضِعِينَ ٤ If We willed, We could send down upon them a ?compelling? sign from the heavens, leaving their necks bent in ?utter? submission to it.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 5
    وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ ٥ Whatever new reminder comes to them from the Most Compassionate, they always turn away from it.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 6
    فَقَدْ كَذَّبُواْ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُاْ مَا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ٦ They have certainly denied ?the truth?, so they will soon face the consequences of their ridicule.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 7
    أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ ٧ Have they failed to look at the earth, ?to see? how many types of fine plants We have caused to grow in it?
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 8
    إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةً‌ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ٨ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 9
    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ٩ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 10
    وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ١٠ ?Remember? when your Lord called out to Moses, “Go to the wrongdoing people—
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 11
    قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ‌ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ ١١ the people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear ?Allah??”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 12
    قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ ١٢ He replied, “My Lord! I fear that they will reject me.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 13
    وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ ١٣ And ?so? my heart will be broken and my tongue will be tied. So send Aaron along ?as a messenger?.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 14
    وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ ١٤ Also, they have a charge against me, so I fear they may kill me.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 15
    قَالَ كَلَّا‌ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَآ‌ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ ١٥ Allah responded, “Certainly not! So go, both of you, with Our signs. We will be with you, listening.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 16
    فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٦ Go to Pharaoh and say, ‘We are messengers from the Lord of all worlds,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 17
    أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ ١٧ ?commanded to say:? ‘Let the Children of Israel go with us.’’”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 18
    قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ ١٨ Pharaoh protested, “Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you stayed several years of your life in our care?
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 19
    وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ١٩ Then you did what you did, being ?utterly? ungrateful!”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 20
    قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۟ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ٢٠ Moses replied, “I did it then, lacking guidance.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 21
    فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ٢١ So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 22
    وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ ٢٢ How can that be a ‘favour,’ of which you remind me, when ?it was only because? you ?have? enslaved the Children of Israel?”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 23
    قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٢٣ Pharaoh asked, “And what is ‘the Lord of all worlds’?”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 24
    قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ‌ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ ٢٤ Moses replied, “?He is? the Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything in between, if only you had sure faith.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 25
    قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ ٢٥ Pharaoh said to those around him, “Did you hear ?what he said??”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 26
    قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٢٦ Moses added, “?He is? your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 27
    قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ ٢٧ Pharaoh said ?mockingly?, “Your messenger, who has been sent to you, must be insane.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 28
    قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ‌ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ٢٨ Moses responded: “?He is? the Lord of the east and west, and everything in between, if only you had any sense.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 29
    قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ ٢٩ Pharaoh threatened, “If you take any other god besides me, I will certainly have you imprisoned.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 30
    قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ ٣٠ Moses responded, “Even if I bring you a clear proof?”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 31
    قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ٣١ Pharaoh demanded, “Bring it then, if what you say is true.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 32
    فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ ٣٢ So he threw down his staff and—behold!—it became a real snake.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 33
    وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ ٣٣ Then he drew his hand ?out of his collar? and it was ?shining? white for all to see.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 34
    قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ ٣٤ Pharaoh said to the chiefs around him, “He is indeed a skilled magician,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 35
    يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ ٣٥ who seeks to drive you from your land by his magic. So what do you propose?”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 36
    قَالُوٓاْ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ ٣٦ They replied, “Let him and his brother wait and dispatch mobilizers to all cities
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 37
    يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ ٣٧ to bring you every skilled magician.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 38
    فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ٣٨ So the magicians were assembled at the set time on the appointed day.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 39
    وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ ٣٩ And the people were asked, “Will you join the gathering,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 40
    لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُواْ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ ٤٠ so that we may follow the magicians if they prevail?”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 41
    فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُواْ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ ٤١ When the magicians came, they asked Pharaoh, “Shall we have a ?suitable? reward if we prevail?”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 42
    قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ ٤٢ He replied, “Yes, and you will then certainly be among those closest to me.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 43
    قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُواْ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ ٤٣ Moses said to them, “Cast whatever you wish to cast.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 44
    فَأَلْقَوْاْ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُواْ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ ٤٤ So they cast down their ropes and staffs, saying, “By Pharaoh’s might, it is we who will surely prevail.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 45
    فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ ٤٥ Then Moses threw down his staff, and—behold!—it devoured the objects of their illusion!
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 46
    فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ ٤٦ So the magicians fell down, prostrating.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 47
    قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٤٧ They declared, “We ?now? believe in the Lord of all worlds—
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 48
    رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ ٤٨ the Lord of Moses and Aaron.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 49
    قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ‌ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ‌ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ٤٩ Pharaoh threatened, “How dare you believe in him before I give you permission? He must be your master who taught you magic, but soon you will see. I will certainly cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, then crucify you all.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 50
    قَالُواْ لَا ضَيْرَ‌ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ ٥٠ They responded, “?That would be? no harm! Surely to our Lord we will ?all? return.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 51
    إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٥١ We really hope that our Lord will forgive our sins, as we are the first to believe.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 52
    ۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ ٥٢ And We inspired Moses, ?saying,? “Leave with My servants at night, for you will surely be pursued.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 53
    فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ ٥٣ Then Pharaoh sent mobilizers to all cities,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 54
    إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ ٥٤ ?and said,? “These ?outcasts? are just a handful of people,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 55
    وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ ٥٥ who have really enraged us,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 56
    وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَـٰذِرُونَ ٥٦ but we are all on the alert.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 57
    فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ٥٧ So We lured the tyrants out of ?their? gardens, springs,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 58
    وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ ٥٨ treasures, and splendid residences.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 59
    كَذَٲلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ ٥٩ So it was. And We awarded it ?all? to the Children of Israel.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 60
    فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ ٦٠ And so they pursued them at sunrise.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 61
    فَلَمَّا تَرَٲٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ ٦١ When the two groups came face to face, the companions of Moses cried out, “We are overtaken for sure.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 62
    قَالَ كَلَّآ‌ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ ٦٢ Moses reassured ?them?, “Absolutely not! My Lord is certainly with me—He will guide me.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 63
    فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ‌ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ٦٣ So We inspired Moses: “Strike the sea with your staff,” and the sea was split, each part was like a huge mountain.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 64
    وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْأَخَرِينَ ٦٤ We drew the pursuers to that place,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 65
    وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ٦٥ and delivered Moses and those with him all together.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 66
    ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْأَخَرِينَ ٦٦ Then We drowned the others.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 67
    إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةً‌ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ٦٧ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 68
    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ٦٨ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 69
    وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٲهِيمَ ٦٩ Relate to them ?O Prophet? the story of Abraham,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 70
    إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ ٧٠ when he questioned his father and his people, “What is that you worship ?besides Allah??”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 71
    قَالُواْ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَـٰكِفِينَ ٧١ They replied, “We worship idols, to which we are fully devoted.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 72
    قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ ٧٢ Abraham asked, “Can they hear you when you call upon them?
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 73
    أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ ٧٣ Or can they benefit or harm you?”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 74
    قَالُواْ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٲلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ ٧٤ They replied, “No! But we found our forefathers doing the same.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 75
    قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ٧٥ Abraham responded, “Have you ?really? considered what you have been worshipping—
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 76
    أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ ٧٦ you and your ancestors?
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 77
    فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٧٧ They are ?all? enemies to me, except the Lord of all worlds.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 78
    ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ ٧٨ ?He is? the One Who created me, and He ?alone? guides me.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 79
    وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ ٧٩ ?He is? the One Who provides me with food and drink.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 80
    وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ ٨٠ And He ?alone? heals me when I am sick.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 81
    وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ ٨١ And He ?is the One Who? will cause me to die, and then bring me back to life.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 82
    وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓــَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ ٨٢ And He is ?the One? Who, I hope, will forgive my flaws on Judgment Day.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 83
    رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ ٨٣ “My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and join me with the righteous.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 85
    وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٨٥ Make me one of those awarded the Garden of Bliss.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 84
    وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْأَخِرِينَ ٨٤ Bless me with honourable mention among later generations.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 86
    وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ٨٦ Forgive my father, for he is certainly one of the misguided.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 87
    وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ ٨٧ And do not disgrace me on the Day all will be resurrected—
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 88
    يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ ٨٨ the Day when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 89
    إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ ٨٩ Only those who come before Allah with a pure heart ?will be saved?.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 90
    وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ٩٠ ?On that Day? Paradise will be brought near to the God-fearing,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 91
    وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ ٩١ and the Hellfire will be displayed to the deviant.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 159
    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٥٩ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 160
    كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ١٦٠ The people of Lot rejected the messengers
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 161
    إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٦١ when their brother Lot said to them, “Will you not fear ?Allah??
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 162
    إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ١٦٢ I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 163
    فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٦٣ So fear Allah, and obey me.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 164
    وَمَآ أَسْــَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ‌ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٦٤ I do not ask you for any reward for this ?message?. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 165
    أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٦٥ Why do you ?men? lust after fellow men,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 166
    وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٲجِكُم‌ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ ١٦٦ leaving the wives that your Lord has created for you? In fact, you are a transgressing people.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 167
    قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ ١٦٧ They threatened, “If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be expelled.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 168
    قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ ١٦٨ Lot responded, “I am truly one of those who despise your ?shameful? practice.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 169
    رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ ١٦٩ My Lord! Save me and my family from ?the consequences of? what they do.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 170
    فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ١٧٠ So We saved him and all of his family,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 171
    إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ ١٧١ except an old woman, who was one of the doomed.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 172
    ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْأَخَرِينَ ١٧٢ Then We utterly destroyed the rest,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 173
    وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا‌ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ ١٧٣ pouring upon them a rain ?of brimstone?. How evil was the rain of those who had been warned!
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 174
    إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةً‌ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٧٤ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 175
    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٧٥ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 176
    كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ لْــَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ١٧٦ The residents of the Forest rejected the messengers
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 177
    إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٧٧ when Shu’aib said to them, “Will you not fear ?Allah??
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 178
    إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ١٧٨ I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 179
    فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٧٩ So fear Allah, and obey me.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 180
    وَمَآ أَسْــَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ‌ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٨٠ I do not ask you for any reward for this ?message?. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 181
    ۞ أَوْفُواْ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ ١٨١ Give full measure, and cause no loss ?to others?.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 182
    وَزِنُواْ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ ١٨٢ Weigh with an even balance,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 183
    وَلَا تَبْخَسُواْ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْاْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ ١٨٣ and do not defraud people of their property. Nor go about spreading corruption in the land.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 184
    وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ١٨٤ And fear the One Who created you and ?all? earlier peoples.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 185
    قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ ١٨٥ They replied, “You are simply bewitched!
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 186
    وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ ١٨٦ Also, you are only a human being like us, and we think you are indeed a liar.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 187
    فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ١٨٧ So cause ?deadly? pieces of the sky to fall upon us, if what you say is true.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 188
    قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ١٨٨ Shu’aib responded, “My Lord knows best whatever you do.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 189
    فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ‌ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ١٨٩ So they rejected him, and ?so? were overtaken by the torment of the day of the ?deadly? cloud. That was really a torment of a tremendous day.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 190
    إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةً‌ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٩٠ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 191
    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٩١ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 192
    وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٩٢ This is certainly a revelation from the Lord of all worlds,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 193
    نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ ١٩٣ which the trustworthy spirit ?Gabriel? brought down
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 194
    عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ ١٩٤ into your heart ?O Prophet?—so that you may be one of the warners—
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 196
    وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ١٩٦ And it has indeed been ?foretold? in the Scriptures of those before.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 195
    بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ ١٩٥ in a clear Arabic tongue.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 197
    أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُاْ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٲٓءِيلَ ١٩٧ Was it not sufficient proof for the deniers that it has been recognized by the knowledgeable among the Children of Israel?
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 198
    وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ ١٩٨ Had We revealed it to a non-Arab,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 199
    فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ ١٩٩ who would then recite it to the deniers ?in fluent Arabic?, still they would not have believed in it!
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 200
    كَذَٲلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ٢٠٠ This is how We allow denial ?to steep? into the hearts of the wicked.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 201
    لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ ٢٠١ They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 202
    فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ٢٠٢ which will take them by surprise when they least expect ?it?.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 203
    فَيَقُولُواْ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ ٢٠٣ Then they will cry, “Can we be allowed more time?”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 204
    أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ ٢٠٤ Do they ?really? seek to hasten Our torment?
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 207
    مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُمَتَّعُونَ ٢٠٧ would that enjoyment be of any benefit to them ?at all??
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 206
    ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُوعَدُونَ ٢٠٦ then there came to them what they had been threatened with:
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 205
    أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ ٢٠٥ Imagine ?O Prophet? if We allowed them enjoyment for years,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 208
    وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ ٢٠٨ We have never destroyed a society without warners
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 209
    ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ ٢٠٩ to remind ?them?, for We would never wrong ?anyone?.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 210
    وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ ٢١٠ It was not the devils who brought this ?Quran? down:
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 211
    وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ٢١١ it is not for them ?to do so?, nor can they,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 212
    إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ ٢١٢ for they are strictly barred from ?even? overhearing ?it?.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 213
    فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ ٢١٣ So do not ever call upon any other god besides Allah, or you will be one of the punished.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 214
    وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ ٢١٤ And warn ?all, starting with? your closest relatives,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 215
    وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٢١٥ and be gracious to the believers who follow you.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 216
    فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ٢١٦ But if they disobey you, say, “I am certainly free of what you do.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 217
    وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٢١٧ Put your trust in the Almighty, Most Merciful,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 218
    ٱلَّذِى يَرَٮٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ ٢١٨ Who sees you when you rise ?for prayer at night?,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 219
    وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ ٢١٩ as well as your movements ?in prayer? along with ?fellow? worshippers.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 220
    إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٢٢٠ He ?alone? is indeed the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 221
    هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ ٢٢١ Shall I inform you of whom the devils ?actually? descend upon?
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 222
    تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ ٢٢٢ They descend upon every sinful liar,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 223
    يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ ٢٢٣ who gives an ?attentive? ear ?to half-truths?, mostly passing on sheer lies.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 224
    وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ ٢٢٤ As for poets, they are followed ?merely? by deviants.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 225
    أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ ٢٢٥ Do you not see how they rant in every field,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 226
    وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ ٢٢٦ only saying what they never do?
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 227
    إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَذَكَرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُواْ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْ‌ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ ٢٢٧ Except those who believe, do good, remember Allah often, and ?poetically? avenge ?the believers? after being wrongfully slandered. The wrongdoers will come to know what ?evil? end they will meet.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 92
    وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ ٩٢ And it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to worship
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 93
    مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ ٩٣ besides Allah? Can they help you or even help themselves?”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 96
    قَالُواْ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ ٩٦ There the deviant will cry while disputing with their idols,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 95
    وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ ٩٥ and the soldiers of Iblîs, all together.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 94
    فَكُبْكِبُواْ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ ٩٤ Then the idols will be hurled headlong into Hell, along with the deviant
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 97
    تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ ٩٧ “By Allah! We were clearly mistaken,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 98
    إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٩٨ when we made you equal to the Lord of all worlds.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 99
    وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ ٩٩ And none led us astray other than the wicked.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 100
    فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَـٰفِعِينَ ١٠٠ Now we have none to intercede for us,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 101
    وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ ١٠١ nor a close friend.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 102
    فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١٠٢ If only we could have a second chance, then we would be believers.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 103
    إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةً‌ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٠٣ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 104
    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٠٤ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 105
    كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ١٠٥ The people of Noah rejected the messengers
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 106
    إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٠٦ when their brother Noah said to them, “Will you not fear ?Allah??
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 107
    إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ١٠٧ I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 108
    فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٠٨ So fear Allah, and obey me.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 109
    وَمَآ أَسْــَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ‌ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٠٩ I do not ask you for any reward for this ?message?. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 110
    فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١١٠ So fear Allah, and obey me.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 111
    ۞ قَالُوٓاْ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ ١١١ They argued, “How can we believe in you, when you are followed ?only? by the lowest of the low?”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 112
    قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ ١١٢ He responded, “And what knowledge do I have of what they do?
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 113
    إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى‌ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ ١١٣ Their judgment is with my Lord, if you had any sense!
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 114
    وَمَآ أَنَا۟ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١١٤ I am not going to expel the believers.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 115
    إِنْ أَنَا۟ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ١١٥ I am only sent with a clear warning.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 116
    قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ ١١٦ They threatened, “If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be stoned ?to death?.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 117
    قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ ١١٧ Noah prayed, “My Lord! My people have truly rejected me.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 118
    فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١١٨ So judge between me and them decisively, and save me and the believers with me.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 119
    فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ ١١٩ So We saved him and those with him in the fully loaded Ark.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 120
    ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ ١٢٠ Then afterwards We drowned the rest.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 121
    إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةً‌ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٢١ Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 122
    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٢٢ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 123
    كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ١٢٣ The people of ’Âd rejected the messengers
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 124
    إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٢٤ when their brother Hûd said to them, “Will you not fear ?Allah??
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 125
    إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ١٢٥ I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 126
    فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٢٦ So fear Allah, and obey me.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 127
    وَمَآ أَسْــَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ‌ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٢٧ I do not ask you for any reward for this ?message?. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 128
    أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ ١٢٨ ?Why? do you build a landmark on every high place in vanity,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 129
    وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ ١٢٩ and construct castles, as if you are going to live forever,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 130
    وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ ١٣٠ and act so viciously when you attack ?others??
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 131
    فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٣١ So fear Allah, and obey me.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 132
    وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ ١٣٢ Fear the One Who has provided you with ?the good? things you know:
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 133
    أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَـٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ ١٣٣ He provided you with cattle, and children,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 134
    وَجَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ١٣٤ and gardens, and springs.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 135
    إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ١٣٥ I truly fear for you the torment of a tremendous day.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 136
    قَالُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٲعِظِينَ ١٣٦ They responded, “It is all the same to us whether you warn ?us? or not.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 137
    إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ١٣٧ This is simply the tradition of our predecessors.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 138
    وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ ١٣٨ And we will never be punished.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 139
    فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ‌ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةً‌ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٣٩ So they rejected him, and ?so? We destroyed them. Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 140
    وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٤٠ And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 141
    كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ١٤١ The people of Thamûd rejected the messengers
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 142
    إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٤٢ when their brother ?âli? said to them, “Will you not fear ?Allah??
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 143
    إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ١٤٣ I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 144
    فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٤٤ So fear Allah, and obey me.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 145
    وَمَآ أَسْــَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ‌ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ١٤٥ I do not ask you for any reward for this ?message?. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 146
    أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ ١٤٦ Do you think you will be ?forever? left secure in what you have here:
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 147
    فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ١٤٧ amid gardens and springs,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 148
    وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ ١٤٨ and ?various? crops, and palm trees ?loaded? with tender fruit;
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 149
    وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَـٰرِهِينَ ١٤٩ to carve homes in the mountains with great skill?
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 150
    فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٥٠ So fear Allah, and obey me.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 151
    وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓاْ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ ١٥١ And do not follow the command of the transgressors,
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 152
    ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ ١٥٢ who spread corruption throughout the land, never setting things right.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 153
    قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ ١٥٣ They replied, “You are simply bewitched!
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 154
    مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔـايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ ١٥٤ You are only a human being like us, so bring forth a sign if what you say is true.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 155
    قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ١٥٥ ?âli? said, “Here is a camel. She will have her turn to drink as you have yours, each on an appointed day.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 156
    وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ١٥٦ And do not ever touch her with harm, or you will be overtaken by the torment of a tremendous day.”
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 157
    فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُواْ نَـٰدِمِينَ ١٥٧ But they killed her, becoming regretful.
  • Ash Shu’ara’ Ayah 158
    فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ‌ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةً‌ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٥٨ So the punishment overtook them. Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.

الشعراء which is spelled Surah Ash Shu'ara' in english has meaning The Poets is placed at number 26 in the Quran. This surah that contains 227 number of ayah, started on page 367 & ends on page 376 in the Holy Quran.

الشعراء is part of & given to prophet Muhammad as the number 47 in the order of Quran revelation.
