- Al Muddaththir Ayah 38كُلُّ نَفْسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ رَهِينَةٌ ٣٨ Every soul will be detained for what it has done,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 39إِلَّآ أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلْيَمِينِ ٣٩ except the people of the right,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 40فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ٤٠ who will be in Gardens, asking one another
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 41عَنِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ٤١ about the wicked ?who will then be asked?:
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 42مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِى سَقَرَ ٤٢ “What has landed you in Hell?”
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 43قَالُواْ لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ ٤٣ They will reply, “We were not of those who prayed,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 44وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ ٱلْمِسْكِينَ ٤٤ nor did we feed the poor.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 45وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ ٱلْخَآئِضِينَ ٤٥ We used to indulge ?in falsehood? along with others,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 46وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ ٤٦ and deny the Day of Judgment,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 47حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَـٰنَا ٱلْيَقِينُ ٤٧ until the inevitable came to us.”
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 48فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَـٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِينَ ٤٨ So the pleas of intercessors will be of no benefit to them.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 49فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلتَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ ٤٩ Now, what is the matter with them that they are turning away from the reminder,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 50كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ ٥٠ as if they were spooked zebras
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 51فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةِۭ ٥١ fleeing from a lion?
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 52بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِىٍٕ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًا مُّنَشَّرَةً ٥٢ In fact, each one of them wishes to be given a ?personal? letter ?from Allah? for all ?to read?.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 53كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلْأَخِرَةَ ٥٣ But no! In fact, they do not fear the Hereafter.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 54كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذْكِرَةٌ ٥٤ Enough! Surely this ?Quran? is a reminder.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 55فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ ٥٥ So let whoever wills be mindful of it.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 56وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ ٥٦ But they cannot do so unless Allah wills. He ?alone? is worthy to be feared and entitled to forgive.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 1يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمُدَّثِّرُ ١ O you covered up ?in your clothes?!
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 2قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ ٢ Arise and warn ?all?.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 3وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ ٣ Revere your Lord ?alone?.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 4وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ ٤ Purify your garments.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 5وَٱلرُّجْزَ فَٱهْجُرْ ٥ ?Continue to? shun idols.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 6وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ ٦ Do not do a favour expecting more ?in return?.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 7وَلِرَبِّكَ فَٱصْبِرْ ٧ And persevere for ?the sake of? your Lord.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 8فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِى ٱلنَّاقُورِ ٨ ?For? when the Trumpet will be sounded,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 9فَذَٲلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ ٩ that will ?truly? be a difficult Day—
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 10عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ ١٠ far from easy for the disbelievers.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 11ذَرْنِى وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًا ١١ And leave to me ?O Prophet? the one I created all by Myself,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 12وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُۥ مَالاً مَّمْدُودًا ١٢ and granted him abundant wealth,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 13وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًا ١٣ and children always by his side,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 14وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمْهِيدًا ١٤ and made life very easy for him.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 15ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ ١٥ Yet he is hungry for more.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 16كَلَّآۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِأَيَـٰتِنَا عَنِيدًا ١٦ But no! ?For? he has been truly stubborn with Our revelations.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 17سَأُرْهِقُهُۥ صَعُودًا ١٧ I will make his fate unbearable,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 18إِنَّهُۥ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ ١٨ for he contemplated and determined ?a degrading label for the Quran?.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 19فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ ١٩ May he be condemned! How evil was what he determined!
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 20ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ ٢٠ May he be condemned even more! How evil was what he determined!
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 21ثُمَّ نَظَرَ ٢١ Then he re-contemplated ?in frustration?,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 22ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ ٢٢ then frowned and scowled,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 23ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ ٢٣ then turned his back ?on the truth? and acted arrogantly,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 24فَقَالَ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ يُؤْثَرُ ٢٤ saying, “This ?Quran? is nothing but magic from the ancients.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 25إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا قَوْلُ ٱلْبَشَرِ ٢٥ This is no more than the word of a man.”
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 26سَأُصْلِيهِ سَقَرَ ٢٦ Soon I will burn him in Hell!
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 27وَمَآ أَدْرَٮٰكَ مَا سَقَرُ ٢٧ And what will make you realize what Hell is?
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 28لَا تُبْقِى وَلَا تَذَرُ ٢٨ It does not let anyone live or die,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 29لَوَّاحَةٌ لِّلْبَشَرِ ٢٩ scorching the skin.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 30عَلَيْهَا تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ ٣٠ It is overseen by nineteen ?keepers?.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 31وَمَا جَعَلْنَآ أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَـٰٓئِكَةًۙ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَيَزْدَادَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِيمَـٰنًاۙ وَلَا يَرْتَابَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَۙ وَلِيَقُولَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَـٰذَا مَثَلاًۚ كَذَٲلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ وَمَا هِىَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَىٰ لِلْبَشَرِ ٣١ We have appointed only ?stern? angels as wardens of the Fire. And We have made their number only as a test for the disbelievers, so that the People of the Book will be certain, and the believers will increase in faith, and neither the People of the Book nor the believers will have any doubts, and so that those ?hypocrites? with sickness in their hearts and the disbelievers will argue, “What does Allah mean by such a number?” In this way Allah leaves whoever He wills to stray and guides whoever He wills. And none knows the forces of your Lord except He. And this ?description of Hell? is only a reminder to humanity.
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 32كَلَّا وَٱلْقَمَرِ ٣٢ But no! By the moon,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 33وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذْ أَدْبَرَ ٣٣ and the night as it retreats,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 34وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَآ أَسْفَرَ ٣٤ and the day as it breaks!
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 35إِنَّهَا لَإِحْدَى ٱلْكُبَرِ ٣٥ Surely Hell is one of the mightiest catastrophes—
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 36نَذِيرًا لِّلْبَشَرِ ٣٦ a warning to humankind,
- Al Muddaththir Ayah 37لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوْ يَتَأَخَّرَ ٣٧ to whichever of you chooses to take the lead or lag behind.
المدثر which is spelled Surah Al Muddaththir in english has meaning The Cloaked One is placed at number 74 in the Quran. This surah that contains 56 number of ayah, started on page 575 & ends on page 577 in the Holy Quran.
المدثر is part of & given to prophet Muhammad as the number 4 in the order of Quran revelation.
