- Al Balad Ayah 2وَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ٢ even though you ?O Prophet? are subject to abuse in this city—
- Al Balad Ayah 1لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ١ I do swear by this city ?of Mecca?—
- Al Balad Ayah 3وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ ٣ and by every parent and ?their? child!
- Al Balad Ayah 4لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ فِى كَبَدٍ ٤ Indeed, We have created humankind in ?constant? struggle.
- Al Balad Ayah 5أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ ٥ Do they think that no one has power over them,
- Al Balad Ayah 6يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالاً لُّبَدًا ٦ boasting, “I have wasted enormous wealth!”?
- Al Balad Ayah 7أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ ٧ Do they think that no one sees them?
- Al Balad Ayah 8أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عَيْنَيْنِ ٨ Have We not given them two eyes,
- Al Balad Ayah 9وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ ٩ a tongue, and two lips;
- Al Balad Ayah 10وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ ١٠ and shown them the two ways ?of right and wrong??
- Al Balad Ayah 11فَلَا ٱقْتَحَمَ ٱلْعَقَبَةَ ١١ If only they had attempted the challenging path ?of goodness instead?!
- Al Balad Ayah 12وَمَآ أَدْرَٮٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ ١٢ And what will make you realize what ?attempting? the challenging path is?
- Al Balad Ayah 13فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ ١٣ It is to free a slave,
- Al Balad Ayah 14أَوْ إِطْعَـٰمٌ فِى يَوْمٍ ذِى مَسْغَبَةٍ ١٤ or to give food in times of famine
- Al Balad Ayah 15يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ ١٥ to an orphaned relative
- Al Balad Ayah 16أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ ١٦ or to a poor person in distress,
- Al Balad Ayah 17ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَتَوَاصَوْاْ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْاْ بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ ١٧ and—above all—to be one of those who have faith and urge each other to perseverance and urge each other to compassion.
- Al Balad Ayah 18أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ ١٨ These are the people of the right.
- Al Balad Ayah 19وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔـايَـٰتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْــَٔمَةِ ١٩ As for those who deny Our signs, they are the people of the left.
- Al Balad Ayah 20عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةُۢ ٢٠ The Fire will be sealed over them.
البلد which is spelled Surah Al Balad in english has meaning The City is placed at number 90 in the Quran. This surah that contains 20 number of ayah, started on page 594 & ends on page 594 in the Holy Quran.
البلد is part of & given to prophet Muhammad as the number 35 in the order of Quran revelation.
