He frowned and turned ?his attention? away,
  • Abasa Ayah 2
أَن جَآءَهُ ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ ٢ ?simply? because the blind man came to him ?interrupting?.

You never know ?O Prophet?, perhaps he may be purified,
  • Abasa Ayah 4
أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰٓ ٤ or he may be mindful, benefitting from the reminder.
  • Abasa Ayah 5
As for the one who was indifferent,
  • Abasa Ayah 6
فَأَنتَ لَهُۥ تَصَدَّىٰ ٦ you gave him your ?undivided? attention,
  • Abasa Ayah 7
وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّىٰ ٧ even though you are not to blame if he would not be purified.
  • Abasa Ayah 8
But as for the one who came to you, eager ?to learn?,
  • Abasa Ayah 9
وَهُوَ يَخْشَىٰ ٩ being in awe ?of Allah?,
  • Abasa Ayah 10
    فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّىٰ ١٠ you were inattentive to him.
  • Abasa Ayah 11

From what substance did He create them?

  • Abasa Ayah 20
Then He makes the way easy for them,
